What is a GPS tracker?
A GPS tracker is a small electronic device installed inside a vehicle. It reads the vehicle's position from GPS satellites and sends it over the mobile network to a tracking server, so the owner can see exactly where the vehicle is, how fast it is moving and whether the engine is on — live, from a phone or computer.
At GVSS every tracker connects to our V-Secure tracking platform. You get the Android and iPhone apps, a web login, instant alerts and a 24/7 control room that can help you in an emergency.
What can a V-Secure GPS tracker do?
- Live tracking — location updates every 10 seconds on Google Maps
- Remote engine cut — stop a stolen vehicle from your phone (Premium and Pro)
- Alerts — ignition, overspeed, geofence, power disconnect, tamper and towing
- History & playback — replay any trip with stops and parking time
- Reports — distance, trips, engine hours, fuel and driver behaviour
- Multiple users — share access with family members or managers

How does GPS tracking work?
The tracker receives signals from GPS satellites to calculate its position. A SIM inside the device sends that position over the GSM network to the GVSS server, which shows it in the app. Because the device is wired to the vehicle's battery and hidden during installation, it keeps reporting even when a thief does not know it is there.
